EUMA Cyprus was set up in 1989 after the initiative of 9 very dynamic ladies who had attended a seminar by Christine Davies (one of the Founder Members of the Association European wide, now an Honorary member).

EUMA Cyprus now consists of around 90 active members, all of which hold key positions with companies all over Cyprus. The majority are based in the capital of the island Nicosia, with a few members in Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos. For this reason, most of the National groups activities take place in Nicosia, and occasionally, in Limassol and Paphos.

About 5-7 working meetings are organised through the year, when members get together to discuss EUMA business, and on some occasions various speakers are invited to give lectures and presentations on topics related to our profession or of general topics of interest. The annual Training Day usually is organised at the beginning of the year which is open to non-members. The Annual General Meeting is held in June or July of each year. Other events annually organised are a celebration event on Secretary's Day, a workshop/panel discussion with students from Cyprus College attending Office Administration courses, Company visits, a Managers Meet Secretaries event, and of course at the end of each year our Christmas Gala Dinner.

Apart from the National Board (Chairman, Public Relations Officer and Treasurer), the National Group consists of 6 committees:

These committees have been formed in order to assist the National Board to achieve the aims of the Association and also for the purpose of ensuring:

• Collective effort
  
• Team spirit
  
• Decentralisation and delegation of workload
  
• Involvement of all members giving them the opportunity to work on various projects.

Manager's Assistant's Day

A "Managers' Assistant's Day" event was organized by EUMA on Wednesday, 29 April 2009, at 8.00 p.m. and held at the Classic Hotel in Nicosia.

The event is organized every year by EUMA in order to celebrate the manager's assistant's day and to show respect and appreciation to the person who works closely with the manager or the director of a company.

Mr Sakis Theodosiou, the Commercial Manager of Green Dot, was invited to be a guest speaker and he gave a very interesting and informative speech about "Recycling In Our Lives".

EUMA Cyprus Training Day

The European Management Assistants Association (EUMA) organized a training day as part of its strategic plan for the development, primarily, of its members. 

The subject of the one-day interactive workshop was ‘Innovative methods of communication through possitive management of mind', it took place at the Training Centre of Bank of Cyprus,by Mr Gregoris Neokleous of Epimorfosis Training Academy.  Participants were members and non members of the Association.

During the training day, conducted in a friendly and pleasant atmosphere, the participants gained skills how to recognize the 7 personalities and how to develop interpersonal communications and how to achieve success in their everyday lives.  Also extensive reference was made to the book "The Secret" and the "Law of Attraction".

The training was sponsored by PWC.
