Assistants Day in Poland
Each year on 25 January, EUMA Poland organises the Assistants Day, which is celebrated with a dinner and entertainment activities such as the EUMA knowldege contests. The party is supported and often partially sponsored by the companies of EUMA Poland members such as Trodat, PKO BP, BP Travelbank, Huta Łabędy and Warsaw Management School.

European Management Assistants Conference
EUMA Poland has very successfully organised the European Management Assistants Conference Przez Sekretariat do Europy. The Conference was held in Warsaw in 2002 and 2003 and 2004 and attended by honorable guests: Sonia Vanular, Heli Puputti, Helen Monument, Marta Pikalo and Marjeta Peternel.

EUMA Poland initiated and helped setting-up a new specialization course Office Management at Warsaw Management School. EUMA Poland took an active part in Leonardo II programme organised by Helsinki University of Business and Applied Sciences.

European Spring Council Meeting and Training Day
The latest Spring Council Meeting and Training Day was held in Warsaw in March 2007. The venue was Intercontinental hotel in the centre of Warsaw. 128 participants attended from all over Europe, and the topic of the Training Day was The magic of innovation: Develop your creative skills.

All-Poland Assistant of the Year contest

European Management Assistants Poland has been organising all-Poland Assistant of the Year contest for 7 years now. It takes place in September or in October. The venue of the contest is usually The State College of Shorthand Typing and Foreign Languages or Warsaw Management School, thanks to the hospitality of EUMA members who work there.

History and organisation

European Management Assistants Poland was founded in August 1994 and acted as EAPS-Polska (European Association of Professional Secretaries). Upon ratification by the Annual General Meeting in Munich in 1997, EAPS-Polska became a full member of European Association of Professional Secretaries (EAPS).
In 1999 the Association changed its name to EUMA Poland when EAPS became European Management Assistants (EUMA).

EUMA Poland currently has 20 members, mostly from the Warsaw-area but also from cities such as Katowice, Gdańsk,Toruń, Lublin, Rzeszow and meet 10 times a year.

Structure of the National Group
The National Committee of 4 members is elected at the AGM in June. The Committee consists of the National Chairman, Deputy National Chairman, National Treasurer and National Public Relations Officer, who are the representatives at European Council Meetings twice a year.

The National Chairman is responsible for maintaining and developing the excellent contact, which exists between European Management Assistants Central and the National Group as well as the daily work of the association. Board meetings are organised by the National Chairman and take place at the individual board members' offices. The National Chairman is the contact person concerning networking, giving relevant information to the internet pages working group, presenting European Management Assistants Poland to the press and to various associations, organisations and secretarial schools.

The National Treasurer is responsible for the budget, updating the membership list and for collecting membership fees. The National Treasurer is in contact with the European Treasurer and communicates all relevant information to her.

The National Public Relations Officer is responsible for sending out information on European Management Assistants in general and in particular information on how to become a member of European Management Assistants to potential new members, thus acting as their contact person. The National Public Relations Officer is responsible for informing the European Public Relations Officer and Central Secretariat, e.g. inputs in "proActive", Annual Report, upcoming National events, European overview and National website.

Every two years members are chosen by the National Committee to represent the Association in organising a conference for secretaries and other office personnel, usually held in September. The conference is arranged by Infor Training, one of the largest educational companies in Poland.

The National Committee's members often work in smaller groups when preparing the members' meetings, seminars and/or conferences, cultural activities, get-together evenings, Christmas dinners, Focus on- evenings and summer trips.

Meetings are held at least once a month.
