| History and organisation |
Founded 30 years ago, EUMA is a non-political, European network of management support professionals who focus on personal development and the future of our profession. Members come from a wide spectrum of companies but the predominant factor is that we are all support professionals on common ground, amongst friends.
We are represented in 28 European countries and in the UK operate on a regional basis, each one having a regional committee and membership.
The aims of EUMA are : - To focus on personal development and training EUMA provides an excellent programme of relevant career related topics
- We also focus on the future of our profession aiming to keep up to date with technology and be commercially aware
- And
..we provide a support network for each other often helping with requests for contacts of suppliers or services. This could be a recommendation for a suitable conference venue of perhaps a reasonably priced hotel in a particular area. We also share IT tips and problems, which is very useful.
There are many benefits for our members. From our monthly regional meetings members have the opportunity to gain new knowledge and share experiences. We have access to low cost training by professionals and subsequent personal development opportunities. Opportunities to build and develop contacts and membership gives access to a wide European network.
Each region holds monthly business/networking meetings in the evening, often in hotels or conference venues, enabling us to experience the facilities first hand. At each meeting was have a speaker to talk to us on relevant career related topics. Past meeting themes include : - Time Management
- Motivational Speakers
- Team Building
- Communications
There is a regular programme of UK meetings for the National Committee members and we also have UK training days with subjects such as :
- Finance and the City
- Presentation and Public Speaking Skills
- Popular Psychology and how to use it in the workplace
- Networking & Communication
