History

The Norwegian group of European Management Assistants was founded in August 1974, and Norway was one of the 9 founder countries.

Organisation

European Management Assistants Norway currently has 63 members, mostly from the Oslo area. Our members are represented in a wide range of companies, e.g. the oil and gas industry, law firms, the banking and insurance industry, the telecoms industry etc.

The National Committee of 8 members is elected at the AGM in April and meets regularly. The National Chairman, the National Treasurer and the National PRO are members of the EUMA Council. They are representatives at the Council Meetings twice a year. The National Committee also comprises 4 board members and 1 representative from the affiliate members.

The National Committee arranges the members meetings, seminars and/or conferences as well as cultural activities, get-together evenings and Focus on-evenings.

From 3 - 5 April 2008, EUMA Norway hosted the 2008 EUMA Spring Council and Training Day. Approximately 120 delegates from all over Europe attended the Training Day which took place at the Grand Hotel in Oslo. The topic of the Training Day was Cross-generational communication in the work place.

EUMA Norway has also successfully organised the European Management Assistants Annual Conference and AGM twice. The first time was in Lillehammer in September 1982, the topic was "Meeting the Future", and the second time in Oslo in September 1991. The topic of that Conference was "Culture and Ethics in Business".
